Lethal Bride - (Part 39)

LETHAL BRIDE

“what are you talking about? What two people are you talking about?”. She looked at him in a way that sent shivers down his spine. She got up from him and went to the drawer and took out the picture. He froze on the bed, he knew he was exposed already and there was nothing he could do.
“you are just so careless with your dirty work”, she got closer to him and pointed to the picture, “that’s my dad, that’s my mom and that’s me smiling and happy with my parents. This is what you took away from me, this is what you and your father stole from me”. His palms and under his feet were already very cold.
“Crystal I beg you, I didn’t know what I was doing then, please have mercy for the love we share please”
“You are begging me Easton. When my parents begged you did you listen? Did you listen to their pleas? Did you? Easton did you? Now you want me to have mercy on you, you want me to shove the matter under the carpet. You have no conscience Easton, you killed my parents and you married me. You are a devil, you and your father and the both of you would not escape my revenge”. Her eyes could no longer contain the liquid in them, so it released tears that flowed freely down her cheeks. “Easton I was homeless, haggard and hungry, I didn’t know where my next meal would come from then you came to me in sheep clothing pretending to help me”. Easton was scared, he knew her capabilities he knew what he had created and he feared for his life.
“Crystal please listen to me, for the love we share please”
“what love are you talking about?”
“If I could turn back the hands of time, I would undo all the wrongs I did to hurt you this much, please listen to me, listen to my heart, listen to your heart too please Crystal”. She bent down and brought out a knife and a gun from under the bed.
“what side of your chest is your heart located”
“Crystal please” he pleaded
“Answer me!” she screamed
“the left side” he quickly responded. She got closer holding the knife and the gun carelessly in both hands.
“your father is probably dead by now, she said with a wicked grin on her face”. Easton’s eyes widened with so much fear.
“how do you know?’
“I know because I killed him”
“What! How?”
“He was feeling so sleepy at the wedding, that’s because I slipped in a blue pill into his drink. Once it enters the system he would feel sleepy and once he succumbs to the sleepiness, the pill slows the heart slowly until it stops finally”. Easton stared at her in disbelief.
“How does it feel to loose a parent through murder?” She got closer and pierced the left part of his chest with the knife, he winced and pleaded.
“Just the way my parents begged for their life, it would be the same way today, you would beg for your life but I will kill you anyway”
“Crystal please you are not yourself, free my hands and let us talk about it like a couple”
“You think I’m stupid”. Just then they heard slow footsteps. She turned and looked at the base of the door of the room, she saw a shadow, she was ready for anything. She pointed the gun to the door and waited for the door to be pushed open. The person behind the door kicked the door open to reveal Bruce holding a gun and pointing at her too.
“What does this mean?” she looked confused
“what does it look like?” Bruce saw Easton tied to the bed and laughed “I see you both are already having a rough marriage”
“what do you want here?’ she asked with her gun still pointed at him,
“I am here to tell you that you and Easton will die today”
“why?”
“you killed my elder brother, then you killed my twin, there was a camera that day in the house, I saw everything and since then I have been stalking the both of you, I saw the shock on your face the first day you saw me, you thought you saw a ghost. I made you believe that I knew nothing about your hands in my brother’s death”. Easton kept mute he couldn’t say anything, his whole world had crashed down. Bruce walked past Crystal and pointed the gun at Easton.
“Mr Easton, the Architect of deaths, I see you have been defeated by your own puppet”, Bruce cocked his gun and went closer. Crystal cocked her own gun
“leave him alone, he is mine”, Bruce ignored her and was about to pull the trigger when her bullet hit his back, he turned round weakly in pain and pointed the gun at her,
“you have killed my whole family”, the gun dropped from his hand as his body fell with a heavy thud and breathed his last. By this time Easton was already sweating with fear. She got closer, stepped over the body on the floor and sat on Easton. His breathing became labored. She dangled the knife in front of him.
“You see this knife, its going to go into your heart three times, one for my dad, the other for my mom and the last is for me”
“Crystal please don’t do this, I am begging you, we can work things through between us please” he begged. She remembered something; she got up and picked her phone on the table then resumed her position on him. She dialed Francesca and Reuben’s numbers and told them that there was an emergency in the house and their presence is needed, they both complied to come straight away. Crystal eyes were already red from so much tears, the images of her parents lying in their pool of blood kept appearing in her mind.
“My parents bodies went missing, what happened to them?”
“They were cremated”. That got her really mad and she stabbed him with all her might on his chest, he screamed and struggled to push her off him but she still maintained her balance on top of him.
“That was for cremating their bodies”,
“Crystal I beg you” he said in a strangled voice. “please have mercy”
“You didn’t have mercy on my parents so I wouldn’t on you”. She stabbed him deeply the second time with so much rage, her hands and dress were already bloody.
“That was for my dad”, she stabbed him again with a doubled rage and his blood splashed all over her, “that was for my mother”, then she dug the knife into the place she stabbed slowly. He screamed with so much pain and anguish. She left the knife there then stood up; he was loosing so much blood and was shaking. She took her gun and shot his left hand that had the wedding band on it. She looked at his legs and shot both of his knee caps. He shouted so much that it almost deafened her but she didn’t care.
“The pain you feel right now, can not be compared to the pain you have caused me”. He was trying to talk but words couldn’t come out. She paid close attention to his mouth and saw that he mouthed “I am sorry”.
“No you are not; if you are you would bring my parents back”. She closed her eyes and shot him straight in his forehead. She fell to the floor and cried so much. She was all bloody. She took up her phone and dialed 911, a woman picked.
“911, what’s the emergency?’
“There is a murderer in my house”
“ma’am where are you calling from?”. Crystal gave the address and flung her phone to the floor. She drooped the knife and the gun beside Easton’s body and walked downstairs with her bloody wedding gown. She got outside and saw Francesca and Reuben approaching, they rushed towards her when they saw how bloody she looked.
“What happened?” Francesca asked wide eyed.
“Where is Easton?” Reuben asked
“I killed him” Crystal knelt down and put her hands at the back of her head.
“What is happening I don’t understand?” Francesca was already scared.
“We are all going down?”
“Meaning?” Reuben asked with so much doom in his voice.
“Are you deaf? Cant you hear the sirens?” They all heard the sirens, they were so close, and it was too late to run away as the lights of the vehicles almost blinded them. The sirens got louder. Crystal was going to confess to all the crimes she did, everything that had been covered up by Easton was going to come out. She knew she was going spend a very long time behind bars. The policemen came out of the car running towards them with guns raised.
“Hands behind your head” Francesca and Reuben raised their hands and went down on their knees beside Crystal. They were just too shocked to even utter a sound. Crystal closed her eyes and saw her mother’s face.
“I’m sorry mom, but I deserve it”.

Lethal Bride - (Part 38)

WEDDING

As they walked towards the limo her smile turned into a curious look. She saw the back of a familiar man she once knew. He was obviously flirting with the lady he was talking to. With his left hand in his pocket and a wine glass on his lips he turned round and saw the look on Crystal face, and smiled then walked up to them.
“Congratulations to the newest couple in town”, he lifted his glass as he talked. Easton was dumbfounded and confused, “Bruce how did you know we were getting married today?” he asked.
“That’s a rhetorical question with an obvious answer; you guys are all over social media and since you guys left the Trump hotel without uttering a word of goodbye I decided to attend your wedding uninvited, but I was late”. Easton looked really suspicious but Crystal had a face without expression. What Easton and Bruce talked about had nothing to do with her, she had her own agenda and didn’t care about anyone. People started surrounding them, some were shaking Easton while most ladies either Crystal a pat on her back or a hug. By the time the crowd cleared Bruce was out of sight. Easton scanned through the crowd to get a sight of him but he was gone and that got him worried a bit. He looked at Crystal and noticed how she paid less attention to him, she wasn’t suspicious as usual.  There was something different about her but he couldn’t place his finger on. He just shrugged and decided he was just tired and tensed
Wedding was over, all the well wishers bid them farewell as they drove off in the limo. Easton radiated so much joy from within. Everything was perfect and beautiful. He turned to his bride and admired her
“You are so beautiful”, she turned and smiled “thank you”. He laced his fingers through her fingers and sighed “I just feel complete with you beside me as my wife”, then a thought came, he remembered that she cancelled their honeymoon trip, “honey why did you cancel the trip I wanted to plan for us”
“That’s because I don’t see it as necessary and we mustn’t follow the trend, besides the house is perfect if we are all alone together” she replied. Everything she said wasn’t convincing enough to him but he had to make her happy by doing her wish. The thought of seeing Bruce came to his mind.
“weren’t you worried when you saw Bruce today?”, she turned to him
“no, I wasn’t. I am already used to him turning up suddenly everywhere we go”. Easton kept his fingers laced through her fingers as they talked till they got home. As Easton and Crystal entered the house the maids were there to welcome them home. Crystal called them together and gave them one week off and made sure they left immediately. Finally the house just contained the both of them. Easton swept her off her feet and carried her upstairs to the room that now belonged to them. He drooped her when they got to the room, he pointed to the bed and there she saw a little white enveloped, she opened and saw a note from him.

“Thank you for getting married to me”

She wrapped her hands around his head and pulled him closer to her lips. She kissed him in a way she had never kissed him before. His arms went round her waist as he too pulled her closer to himself. Everything seemed perfect. He wished she had allowed them travel for their honeymoon but in order to make her happy he had to obey her bidding.
“I noticed at a point you weren’t comfortable at the reception, is anything bothering you?”
“nothing my love, I am perfectly fine”. He looked deep into her eyes and smiled, “you have made me a happy man, thank you”
“no, I am supposed to thank you”
“for?”
“sparing my life and taking me into your house”
“ This is no more a house but a home, its not my home but our home. So are we going to take our first shower as a married couple together”, he grinned. She hated the grin on his face and felt like slapping it off but she smiled a little concealing the burning hatred she had for him. “if only he knows what’s coming?” she thought.
“no need for shower we are okay like this” she said. She took off his tuxedo and tossed it to the floor,” lie down”, he looked at her with a form of surprise   “why?”. She smiled broadly “you would see”. He obeyed and laid on the bed. She removed his shoes and then his socks. Then she sat on the bed and removed her own shoes. He felt so fulfilled and content; he was so filled with admiration for her. She finished removing her shoes and got up then bent down so low so her hand could reach under the bed. She pulled out handcuffs and dangled it. He was amused when he saw the cuffs in her hand. He smiled.
“Why do you have cuffs?” she got up and smiled, “don’t worry its all part of the plan for the night”, she got closer, “raise your hand honey” he obeyed and raised his hand. She cuffed his hand and kissed him.
“this is so weird” he said
“how weird?” she asked
“very weird” he responded. “nothing is weird, I am just going to love you this night” she replied. She unbuttoned his shirt, then traced her fingers lightly from his chest on a straight line to his belt buckle. He was already getting excited. She unbuckled his belt and pulled it out, then released the button of his trouser and zipped it down.
“was this the plan you had in your head to do to me on our wedding night?” his eyes were slowly becoming dark with desire. She looked at him, “there is more coming, more than you can think”. She pulled down his trouser down to his ankle and left it there. She got up and took off her earrings, then loosened her hair. He loved the way her hair hovered around her shoulders. Her smiling face started turning to a face that had known no smile from birth. Her countenance suddenly changed. Easton noticed this change and got worried.
“What’s the problem? Is it something I said?”. Got on top of him and sat down.
“take off your dress, it’s itchy”. She didn’t answer but gave him a hard stare, her eyes that were once tender had something strong in them. He felt uneasy, “Crystal what’s the problem? Your countenance is suddenly changed”
“do you know why it is changed?”
“that’s because I want you to give me back what you stole from me”
“what do you mean?”
“you took away two people that meant the world to me”

Lethal Bride - (Part 37)

WEDDING

Pictures were taken; everybody had a pose to take in front of the camera. Easton was so happy taking poses with Crystal, his arms were constantly around her, proud to be the husband of a very beautiful and attractive woman.
After the picture taking, people started heading to the reception venue. The color decoration at the reception venue was gold and white; the sitting arrangement was awesome and superbly unique. The guests were wowed by everything they saw. A slow love song was being played out as the couple walked in, everybody cheered as they got in. little children ran about even if their parents tried to restrict their movements. Easton went of his way in search of a very funny MC that got people laughing at his wedding, everything the MC talked about were always laced with jokes.
It got to the toast session, family and friends gave their toasts, Easton’s dad gave his toast and also interjected marital advice into it. The groomsmen and Bridesmaids gave their toast. It was now time for Easton to give his own toast.
“I’m so delighted to be able to stand here today with Crystal, I never knew what I was missing until I fell in love with her, she brings me a kind of joy I have never experienced in my life, she makes me feel new everyday and brings out a side of me I never knew I had, I am so proud to have something this beautiful my side, I don’t deserve her but I’m am lucky to have her, everybody raise your glasses and lets toast to the most beautiful bride in the whole world”. Glasses started clinking as they said “to the most beautiful bride in the whole world”. It was now time for Crystal to give her own toast; she stood up smiling broadly,
“today would forever be a memorable day for me, I got married to the man I love so much, a man who took out something so dear away from me, my heart, I’m going to kill him for making me love him so deeply” she laughed as everyone laughed at her realistic joke.
Easton and Crystal danced to “At Last” by Etta James. He never took his eyes off his beautiful bride, she meant everything to him, and he held her with so much affection and love. She wrapped hands around his neck, never taking her eyes off him, she acted really well as a joyful bride, but deep within she was full of range and revenge. The couple’s dance ended and everyone came to the dance floor. Easton groomsmen surrounded him as he danced, Easton’s father took Crystal arms, “come let’s dance”, she felt like using something to stab him but she just smiled and danced with him. They danced for a while then suddenly she said she was tired and needed to seat a little, he allowed her and continued to dance. Crystal sat down and watched father and son dance happily, “if only they know what’s coming” she thought, she beckoned on a waiter to come and ordered him to get her two glasses of wine, the waiter responded to her promptly. He came with glasses of wine and gave them to her, she took it and placed them on the table as she secretly slipped a blue pill into one of the glasses. She watched it dissolve within split seconds then got up and walked towards where her supposed father in law was dancing. She tapped him on his shoulder, he swirled round
“hey, are you rested now”
“yea, I am”. He noticed she held two wine glasses,
“for Easton and yourself I guess”
“Nah”, she shook her head “one is actually for you and the other for me”
“how nice, thanks”. As soon as she handed him the glass Easton came smiling broadly. He wrapped his hand around her waist and kissed the nape of her neck.
“how’s my beautiful wife doing”
“I’m enjoying myself”, she replied. Easton father smiled seeing the love his son had for her. “Alright, let me leave you two love birds together”, he looked at Crystal, “welcome to the family daughter and welcome fully and officially to the family’s business”, he raised his glass and clicked on her own glass, she had a mischievous smile playing on her face as she said “Drink to your rest dad”. She still had the smile on her face as Easton pulled her away to the dance floor.
From where she and Easton danced she had her eyes on his father, she noticed his movement slowed. She watched how he sat down, trying to fight off the sleepiness he felt. Her smile deepened as she watched to her entertainment.
It got to the point of her tossing her cascading flower to all the single females at the reception. All of them took positions behind her, watching her hands with the eye of an eagle as they waited. Crystal closed her eyes, lifted her hands up as and threw the flower behind her. She turned round to see a violent stampede and laughed hard. The flower was already in shreds so almost every of the single ladies had a piece. Everyone laughed, some took pictures while others videoed everything.
It was now Easton’s turn to do the garter tossing. A chair was brought to the centre as everyone urged Crystal to sit down. She eventually sat down, smiling and waiting for Easton to take the garter off her thigh. Easton stood in front of her smiling, and then he went down on all fours and crawled closer to her. Everyone cheered at every move he made. He lifted her gown then covered himself with it; his head became invisible as his mouth was doing the work by pulling down the garter. The guest roared in laughter, some clapped, while other looked on with smiles on their faces. Easton kept pulling the garter from her thigh with his mouth; eventually he was able to bring down to her legs then took it out with his hands. The single guys positioned themselves behind as they waited to catch the garter. Easton stalled and that added excitement to the garter tossing. Finally he threw it behind him and the guys scampered to get it. The garter seemed to have disappeared.
“Where is the garter?” was the sentence of every single guy at the wedding. Someone suddenly shouted “the garter is here”, everyone turned to the direction of the voice and saw the little ring bearer holding the garter and grinning. It was a very funny sight, everyone laughed out so hard and loud.
Finally the wedding was coming to an end, Easton appreciated everyone that came. Soon guest started leaving gradually. Easton noticed how his father was and went up to him.
“dad what’s the matter?, you don’t look too good”
“I just feel very sleepy son, I need to go home now. Happy married life”, the father hugged him, then left. Easton hurried to where his bride was waiting.
“wedding is over, now let’s go home honey”. He took her hand and led her away from the venue to the limo waiting for them. She noticed the absence of his father
“where is your father?’
“he said he was feeling so sleepy so he had to leave”
“he must be really tired”, she said still carrying the smile on her face.

Lethal Bride - (Part 35)

WEDDING
The girls were in frenzy. They couldn’t wait to get into their beautiful dresses but first the bride had to be taken care of. Crystal took her bath, came out of the bathroom dripping.
Easton, his best man and groomsmen were already set and ready to go to church. He wore a Brioni tuxedo, his feet wore Testoni Norvegesse’s black shoe, his left wrist wore a Hublot Classic fussion Haute Joaillere wristwatch, his cologne was mild yet manly. He looked really handsome and ready to be the husband of the woman he fell in love with. He got to the door of her room holding the little wedding present he had for her. He tapped three times before the door was opened by a beaming bridesmaid.
“you know you can’t see the bride now, it’s bad luck”, he smiled
“I just came to give her a present” he handed the present to her, “please give her these”. The girl gasped in delight “oh my God, of course I will”. She snatched them away from him and slammed the door shut. She hurried to where Crystal was, still wearing a white lingerie.
“Easton brought these for you”, she handed her four red roses, an envelop and a little box. The girls crowded her smiling and talking at the same time, they all wanted to see what was written in the note. Crystal seemed uninterested, one of the girls snatched the envelop from her and tore it open. She smiled as she saw the content of the note and decided to read aloud.
“hello my beautiful bride, I don’t have to see you yet to know that you look elegant in your dress. Remember what I told you about the four roses. They signify my love for you. I am the most lucky man alive to have a beautiful woman like you.
Today is the beginning of forever for us. Before we say the vows at the altar I want to promise you that I would always be there for you, I will love you and take care of you, you will always be my very first priority above everything.
My heart, my joy, my love, my peace, my life and everything, I love you so much. See you at the altar".
EASTON
Tears streamed down out of some of the eyes of the girls, they were amazed by how much Easton loved her. Crystal just looked on, not moved by what was read. All she said after the note was read in her mind was “bullshit”. They opened the little box and pulled out a gold chain that had a locket, it was opened and the picture of Crystal and Easton was seen.
“this is so beautiful” one said
“wish I was the bride” another said.
Crystal stepped into her white strapless beaded gown, which was made out of yards of ivory, a silk organza that had a slight gathering with a diagonal pleat of tulle on the bodice. The beautiful dress was finished with a silvery embroided waistband. An Asprey tiara was placed on her head before covering her with an antique white veil.
Francesca brought her shoe, and slipped them on her feet. The shoes were made by Stuart Weitzman. Tanzanite heels made from silver platinum framing. The beautiful shoes had studded diamonds and rare African tanzanite gems on them. It had about 28 carat of diamonds stringed to it’s front strap. About 186 carat of tanzanite gems were used to make its ankle bracelet.
All the girls admired everything she wore.
“everything you are putting on is to die for”, Francesca said as she dozed her admiration for her outfit with her eyes.
“you look amazing”, another sighed and said. Francesca handed Crystal her white and peach cascading bridal flower as they led her downstairs to where a white limousine was waiting to take them to church. They all held their breath as they watched her footstep, guiding her so carefully so she wouldn’t trip and fall. As soon as they reached the floor, they inhaled and exhaled simultaneously. They got outside to see a hired driver dressed in a smart black tuxedo standing next to the car with his hands crossed in front of him. As soon as he saw them coming, he opened the door of the limo for them to get in. As soon as crystal got near he congratulated her. She looked at him and took her eyes off.

Lethal Bride - (Part 36)

WEDDING
He wondered why she looked at him like that; he shrugged “wedding tension I guess”. He got behind the wheel of the limo and drove to church.
Arriving at the church she saw Easton’s father standing and making a call, she frowned “you are going down” she thought. They got out of the limo getting ready for the bride entrance, Crystal sighted Ella who was already running towards her with her flower basket and screaming, Ella was indeed happy to see her. She hugged Crystal with so much happiness, “I miss you”, Crystal didn’t know how to respond to her gestures and just forced a smile through her veil and patted her hair. Easton’s father smiled as he walked towards them.
“My beautiful daughter in law, you look amazing, come let me lead you to my son”. She glared at him through the veil but he didn’t see her face properly so he assumed she smiled. He took her hand as the ring bearer, the flower girl and bridesmaids took their positions in front of them, with Francesca standing behind all smiling and ready to follow Crystal to the altar to meet Easton. They all took steps one at a time into the church. As they got in the pianist played “here comes the bride” rhythm, everyone stood up and faces lit in smiles at the sight of the beautifully dressed bride. Ella judiciously threw her white roses to the floor as she walked. Easton watched her with fulfillment in his heart, the joy he felt seeing her wear the white gown and walking towards him could not be quantified.
“She is going to be my wife today. See how beautiful she looks” Easton thought. Crystal finally reached the altar and stood in front of him; Francesca took her cascading flower from Crystal and stood behind her. Everyone in the church became really quiet as the Baritone voice of the middle aged priest rung out.
“Today we are gathered together on this beautiful morning to share with Crystal and Easton as they exchange vows of their everlasting love. Who gives this woman to be married to this man?”. Easton’s father stood up, the priest looks at him and tells him to seat down.
“As Crystal and Easton take their vows today, we are happy and honored to witness the love of a new family that would be nourished and nurtured through the devotion of two separate individuals growing together through the bonds of love. May their marriage bring them peace, joy, comfort and contentment that is known in the heart of all God’s children. May Crystal and Easton both forward to each new season of their marriage, just as the world look forward to each new season of the year, for all seasons bring with them their own special memories and moments. An essential requirement of a good marriage is a strong bond of real friendship and trust. Your love for each other should grow deeper with every passing day, but it is important to know that your love stands genuine, mutual affection and respect for one another. To love another person is to be willing to accept their strong points and their weak points with equal measures of understanding and respect. The vows you are about to take are the verbal representation of the non-verbal emotions. For it is not the words that would bond you together as one but the strength of the love and commitment found deep in your souls”. The priest opened the book and looked at Easton and Crystal “now, face each other and take your hands, they obeyed.
“Easton, will you take Crystal to be your wife, your partner in life and your one true love? Will you cherish her friendship and love her today, tomorrow and forever?, will you trust and honor her, laugh with her and cry with her?, will you be faithful through good times and bad times, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?”
“I will”, Easton smiled and replied. The priest looks at Crystal,
“Crystal, will you take Easton to be your husband, your partner in life and your one true love? will you cherish his friendship and love him today, tomorrow and forever?, will you trust and honor him, laugh with him and cry with him?, will you be faithful through good times and bad times, in sickness and health as long as you both shall live?”. Crystal hesitated a bit, she was looking at Easton and thinking of the best way to avenge the death of her parents, her eyes were already misty with tears, and “how could they do this to me” she thought. Easton gave her little squeeze in her hand; she turned to priest and forced a smile
“I will” she said.
Easton looked at the priest, “please I have something to say”
“what is it?”
“I want to say my personal vows to her”, the priest smiles, “go ahead”. Easton inhales and exhales deeply, he held her hand tightly,
“I will cherish our union and love you more each day; I give you my heart, my hand, my love. I have never felt love this genuine except with you. You taught me how to love; you brought out a side of me I didn’t know I had. You are mine and I am yours. I stand in front of this people and in front of you that my love for you will never wax cold. You are everything I desired and I promise never to take you for granted. Who knew years back that we were going to stand together at the altar and get married, but here we are. I will love you with every fiber of my body, in sickness and health. I will be your friend, brother and father. You are my life and I will always take care of you”. Many faces lit up, it was evident he really loved the woman he was getting married to. The priest smiled and beckoned on the ring bearer to come forward with the rings. The little boy walked smartly with the ring that rested on the little peach pillow he was holding towards the altar and handed it over to the priest and walked back.
Easton picked one the rings and held Crystal hand, “I Easton give you Crystal this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you”. He slides it on her finger
Crystal picked the ring that was left and held Easton’s hand, “I Crystal give you Easton this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you” she slides it on his finger
The priest asked them to kneel down, then he placed both hands on their head and prayed for them, after he finished they got up.
“By the power vested in me being the priest of this holy sanctuary, I now pronounce you husband and wife”, he smiled at Easton “you may kiss the bride”. Easton with so much joy raised her veil over her head and planted a long kiss on her lips. People applauded and smiled so much.
The priest raised his voice in excitement “people of God I now present you the newly wedded couple Easton and Crystal”. The guests stood up and applauded loudly as the couple and recessional went out.

Lethal Bride - (Part 34)

REVELATION

He observed her countenance, her eyes looked like they were about to spue fire, he got confused and wondered what must have changed her mood so bad. He got nervous and scared, for all the time he knew her, she had never acted in such a manner or spoken to him with so much anger laced in her voice. He looked at the things he held in his hands and dropped them on the bed. He wasn’t ready to leave her the way she was, he was determined to know what made her angry. He probed on and on asking her what changed her mind, she kept mute and never looked at him that made him so afraid. His heart rate increased, “maybe its something I did or said” he thought.
“Crystal if I have done something to offend you please I’m sorry I can’t bear seeing you in this state”. For the first time she turned to look at him but sternly,
“Easton, please leave my room, I need to be alone”
“how do you expect me to leave when you look so unhappy, I have seen you angry but not in this mood, I can’t leave like that”
“Easton I said leave my room, can’t you hear me?” her voice was raised and firm. He stared at her for some time with so much sadness in his eyes, he decided to let her be and see her again when she must have calmed down.
“if that’s what you want, I will, but I am still coming to check you”. She ignored him and kept looking at the ceiling. He left her room with a heavy heart, “if I only I know what is eating her up, it would be better, she knows I can do anything for her why is she keeping something away from me”, he thought as he walked downstairs.
Meanwhile Crystal kept thinking. She realized he and his father were the ones who killed her parents. It hurt her so bad as she continued picturing Easton holding a gun and pointing to her parents. She imagined him pulling the trigger and shooting them dead. The anger she felt within was great.
“He will pay for their deaths”, she continued saying. She knew the pain and trauma she faced; she knew how she searched for shelter door to door trying to run away from her parents’ killers. She remembered how homeless, scared and tattered she was. At 16 she became an orphan when she needed her parents the most. She used to be grateful to Easton for picking her off the streets and giving her shelter but now she hated him because she was spared to be a killer and a thief. It made her more angry thinking about getting married to the person who murdered her parents. She felt like running to Easton and stabbing him deep into his heart and ripping his body into tiny pieces and dropping it at the foot of his father. She spent the entire day thinking of ways to kill them both.
“I am not leaving this wedding will still hold”, she thought, finally she had a plan and there was nothing that was going to stop. What they had thought her she would use it on them. Her entire world came crashing down, the happiness she thought she had finally gotten was merely a mirage. All she needed to do was act like she was happy again and make everyone at ease. She was not going to make him or his dad know that she knew they killed her parents, at least not yet. She had her plan set and hoped her mood wouldn’t create suspicion of any kind. She knew if his father found out she knew, he was going to erase her just like he erased her parents.
At 10pm, she heard a knock at her door, she knew he was going to eventually come. She ignored him because she knew he was going to get in anyway. She watched the door knob turn and saw the door open slowly as he peered in to see her.
“can I talk to you now” he asked. He didn’t get any response from her, he pushed the door further and got in.
“Crystal, you have been here all day. I’ve not been myself all day, I’ve just been looking for positive ways to please you”
“you don’t have to do that you have done enough and I appreciate”. He looked her and wondered why she sounded so different. He knew if he did not push harder he was going to go no where with her.
“look Crystal, I am going to be your husband soon. Your pain is my pain and your joy is mine also. Tell me the problem, let me share in your thoughts please” he pleaded
“if only you knew”, she thought. “I am fine Easton it was just a terrible mood swing”
“mood swing?, I have seen your mood swing but this goes beyond mood swing, something is making you so angry”
“Easton believe me when I say I am fine”
“okay, if you don’t want me to know yet, its fine by me, but you would tell me later on”, he kissed her forehead, “always know I would love you until forever ends, so smile because you have me”. She looked at him and saw how sweet he was but that wasn’t going to change her mind a bit, her mind was made up.
As days drew nearer Easton sort advice from one of his friends concerning her recent coldness to him.
“it’s normal. It’s the common cold feet that happens to a groom or a bride, don’t worry she would get over it” his friend tried to make his heart at ease. He got home and tried settling the decision on where their honey moon could be with her.
“I would be happy if we just come back home after the wedding”,
“and why is that?” he asked
“its less expensive”
“what do you mean less expensive, I have the money, I am not broke”
“I know but that’s want I want”
“I am not buying it”
“ok fine. Let’s move the next day. You can book the place you want us to be”
“ok, fine by me. I love you so much”
“I love you too”.
Each day that passed hardened her heart. Every time she looked at him she hallucinated his hands dripping with the blood of her parents. It grew worse by the day but she curtailed it. She bottled the anger, the betrayal, the grief she felt inside. The final preparation for the wedding ended and it was a day to her wedding. The bridesmaids and her maid of honour, Francesca were all in the room with her, talking and laughing at the same congratulating her. Her smiles were only surface and not from her heart. They urged her to sleep early so that she wouldn’t develop eyebags around her eyes, they called it beauty sleep. She closed her eyes but her mind was not closed. It kept roaming to the picture of her, her parents and the address behind the picture. She thought about Nathaniel, he wanted to tell her the truth but Easton killed him to shut him up. Four hours to her wedding was the time that sleep took over her. She slept off and had a dream that she was sixteen again and her parents were with her. Her dreams that night were merely memories. She woke up with tears soiling her cheeks.
Today was her wedding. “I’m getting married to my parents’ killers”, she thought.
She jerked out her thoughts when she heard several persistent knocks on her door. She got up reluctantly and opened the door to see Francesca and her bridesmaid shrieking with excitement.
“what is it?”
“what do you mean what is it?, today is your wedding”, Francesca beamed, she obviously loved weddings.

Lethal Bride - (Part 33)

REVELATION

Being engaged to Easton was so thrilling for her. Francesca and Reuben heard about it and appeared the next day in the house, Easton’s father was happy for him but still felt uneasy about her parents death and their involvement. Wedding plans began, Easton wanted to give her the best wedding ever, so he contacted the best wedding planner.
The door bell rang, Crystal and Francesca raced to the door while Easton and Reuben looked on with smiles playing on their faces. Crystal opened the door to see a friendly face of a petit woman. The woman smiled seeing the excitement on their faces.
“hi, my name is Trisha and I would be the wedding planner of errrrrrrr”, she looked at both ladies trying to figure out who the bride was. Crystal noticed it, “I am the Bride”, she blurted out.
“oh, congratulations honey”, Trisha moved to give her a hug. It felt weird for Crystal to bend and hug her, but she did anyway. Trisha got into the house and was warmly received. She showed them pictures of what she had done in other weddings, then they knew she did mighty things even if she was small, they were so wowed by her works.
The wedding date was fixed, the venue was picked, caterers were contacted. Crystal wanted a seven step suspended cake with the colour of white and gold and she was definitely going to get that. Easton’s niece Ella was going to be the flower girl, one of his friend’s sons was going to be the ring bearer. Since Crystal did not have any friends, Francesca suggested her friends to be Crystal’s bridesmaid while she would take the position of the maid of honour. Everything thing was going smoothly, all the plans were being achieved. Her dress, her shoes, earring, bracelet, tiara were already bought, she looked at them every morning she woke up, she couldn’t wait to be in them soon, she couldn’t wait for her day to come. On the other hand Easton and Reuben went on their own to get the groom’s outfit. Easton picked Reuben from all his many friends to be the best man and his other friends got the place of groomsmen. Easton couldn’t wait to be the husband of the woman he truly loved and adored. He and Crystal had planned to fly to another country entirely for their honeymoon, but had not decided the country and location. Easton just thought about an island where the both of them would just be together alone with no disturbance for two weeks. Crystal wanted a grand hotel that had everything, but it wasn’t decided yet.
Two weeks to the wedding, Crystal was home alone with the maids; she kept rotating her engagement ring on her finger and admiring it. She was so bored and got a little pissed because Easton delayed in coming back home; he said he wanted to pick something from a mall. She walked around the house anticipating his return. She decided to go to his room. Easton had wanted her to come to his room immediately they got engaged but she refused by telling him until they got married. She got to the door, turned the door knob and pushed it open. She looked around the grand room, she could smell his cologne, it made her miss him more. She kept thinking about how life would be for them as man and wife, she stood in front of his mirror and imagined him behind her, holding her and kissing the nape of her neck. She closed her eyes and pictured his face smiling and telling her how much he loved her. She opened her eyes and shook her head as if by that the thoughts would fly away. She moved to his drawers and started pulling each one lazily, just looking for something to amuse her as she waited for him to come back home. The pulled the top drawer and smiled when she saw his draws, she closed it back and kept pulling drawers. She got to the last one and pulled, she saw pieces of papers, they looked old and a bit dusty, she saw old keys, an old watch, a pen and a dusty white envelop. She looked at them one by one until she got to the envelop, she got a little curious on what was inside and opened it.
The picture she saw left her artic cold. She was dazed and confused. Instantly she felt goose bombs all over her, her heart increased it’s pace. It all came back to her. Tears struggled to the surface no matter how hard she blinked. She covered her mouth trying to stop the sob from escaping. The grief she felt could not be stopped.
She remembered the statement Nathaniel made, “All We Had Was A Picture And An Address” she turned the picture and to her confirmation she saw her old house address where she lived with her parents. Everything within her broke, she also remembered him saying that “You Were Spared”, she couldn’t stop her hands from shaking, she wanted to scream but suppressed it with all her strength. She couldn’t believe that Easton was part of the people that killed her parents. It dawned on her that it was this singular reason he shot Nathaniel at the basement, he didn’t want her to find out the truth. She felt used and empty. She left the room and took the picture along with her. Everything within her broke into little pieces, pieces that could never be brought together no how hard anyone tried. She got to her room and cried silently. The pain she felt was great, everything in her seemed to die. She felt anger, her love slowly turned into hatred. The image of her parents lying in their pool of blood got her more furious. She remembered her mother pleading for their lives. She remembered the chaos; she remembered the sound of the ambulance. She remembered that the bodies of her parents went missing. She remembered how scared she was that day.
Easton came back, holding a bunch of white roses and chocolates. He felt excited to be home to meet his significant other. He looked at the places she should have been, when he didn’t see her, he knew she would be in her room. He got to her and knocked, but no answer came, he knocked again and again, still there was no response. He got worried and opened the door. He saw her lying facing up, with her eyes fixed to the ceiling. He expected her to turn as soon as he came in, but she didn’t, that got him more worried, he moved closer.
“hey honey”
“what?”
“what is it, are you alright?”
“yes I am, Why?”
“you look sad and your eyes are red”
“I just have a severe headache”, she said without looking at him. He kissed her forehead and handed her what he brought.
“I got these for you”
“I don’t need anything from you”.

Lethal Bride - (Part 32)

PROPOSAL

Two waiters quickly came to his aid and took him into the rest room to clean up. She noticed that everyone in the room seemed to be sympathetic towards him. She couldn’t handle the betrayal she felt within, tears dropped from her eyes. Her fingers vibrated so much. A much older woman came to her and touched her shoulders, “its okay honey, its obvious it’s you he loves”.
“I feel so hurt”, Crystal couldn’t contain how she felt, she was visibly shaken and sobbed audibly.
“don’t feel so bad my dear, wipe your eyes and look around”, Crystal looked up without wiping her teary eyes. What she saw confused her. Everyone in the restaurant were all standing and smiling some of them held huge and white plague cards with bold inscriptions written on each of them. She stood up and looked around her. The elderly woman held her hand.
“don’t just stand and stare, read what is written on each card”. Crystal obeyed and read. She started with the one closest to her.
I FELL IN LOVE
WITH YOU, NOT FOR
HOW YOU LOOK, BUT
FOR WHO YOU ARE

LET’S SPEND THE REST
OF OUR LIVES TOGETHER

I WANT TO GROW OLD
WITH YOU

I CAN’T IMAGINE A LIFE
WITHOUT YOU

HAVING YOU BY MY SIDE IS WHAT
COMPLETES ME

BEFORE I FELL IN LOVE WITH YOU
I NEVER KNEW HOW INCOMPLETE
I WAS

I NOW KNOW THAT YOU AND I
ARE TRULY MEANT TO BE
TOGETHER
Crystal turned to the elderly woman, “what does this mean?”, the woman smiled with so much delight. “come, there is more outside”. She followed her outside with so much confusion written all over her face. As soon as they got out, she saw a row of people facing themselves, immediately she saw them they created a path for her to pass through. Each of them carried similar huge plague cards which read “EASTON LOVES CRYSTAL” . She could see him at the end of the row. The elderly woman who was standing beside her vanished. The crowd urged her to walk through. She could hear a familiar music playing out, “Can’t stop this thing we started” by Bryan Adams. By this time she was already overwhelmed. All the anger she felt towards him melted. The crowd kept urging her to walk through. She took the first step, then the next, then she found herself walking through. As she walked, they threw white roses on the ground. She could see Easton beaming as he waited for her. Everything was perfect, the tears that flowed from her eyes as she walked were no longer tears of hurt but of love for him.
Finally the walk that seemed to take forever ended. She stood in front of him. She wanted to say something, but words got stuck in her throat. Easton knelt down on one knee and held a single red rose up to her.

“By the moon I kneel to seek your glory, the red rose I give
to you now creates a new story between us
Seasons are many, their reasons are few
What will remain is my love for you”
She took the rose from him and touched his face, “ I love you so much Easton, get up”
“I won’t, not yet”.
“why?”

He took out the small case from his pocket and opened it to reveal a blue diamond ring by Bvlgari, it was guarded by brilliant cut diamonds and baguette cut diamonds along the sides of the ring. She gasped and placed her hand on her mouth, by this time tears flowed freely from her eyes.
“will you do me the favor of becoming my wife, will you make me the happiest man alive”. Her legs became weak. In her younger days she had fantasized about so many kinds of proposals but not something as beautiful and real as this. She was totally swept of her feet. She looked at with so much love and adoration. The crowd started chanting “Say Yes”, phones were up all over taking the most beautiful moment. She stretched forth her left hand, with so much relief he slides the ring on her finger. He got up and sealed her acceptance with a long kiss on her lips. The crowd roared with excitement and applauds. Easton hugged her so tight as if he was scared to loose her, “thank you for accepting, I love you so much”. Crystal felt a consistent tap on her back, she slowly pulled away to see who it was. When she turned to see, she saw the lady who poured the bottle of wine on his head, his supposed girlfriend. She turned to Easton. “explain this”, Easton and the lady laughed, “ Crystal meet Belinda” he said. Belinda hugged Crystal who didn’t return her hug
“congratulations”
“Easton I’m confused”
“I hired her to play her part”
“oh my God”, Crystal said with realization. “What about the elderly woman who brought me outside. Easton pointed to a direction, she saw the woman waving and smiling as she mouthed “congratulations”. Phones were still up videoing, everybody trying to get the last scene.
“now let’s go somewhere we can be alone, away from this crowd”
“okay”. He held her hand and walked to where he parked the car as the crowd waved goodbye to the newly engaged.
They arrived at a garden. He got out of the car and opened the door for her and held her hand as she got out. He led her through a narrow path. The narrow path led to an open space. She saw a picnic mat with four roses on it. He drew her towards the mat and pointed to the roses. “these roses represents four letters”
“and what are they?” she asked
“they are L O V E”. She smiled and placed her head on his chest, he kissed her forehead.
They sat down under the full moon and talked about anything that came to their minds. If Crystal was asked what her most beautiful moment was, she would always refer to this day. With fingers interlocked they talked into the night.
